9/11 an Elegiac Day

Ten years ago we had an event that changed the lives of anyone living in American. On this 9/11 day we have been elegiac in public, and in private as we recalled where we were the day the 9/11 event took place.

But with an event like this comes newness and a rebirth as well. It's human nature to unite in love as we all remember this event, this unity provides us with the energy and ability to move forward and make life better.

As I listened to the messages left behind from the passengers, knowing they were getting ready to die, you could hear the calm in their voices as they said their last good-byes. How many of us take that opportunity in our daily lives to tell people that we love them while experiencing peace and calm? How many of us can cross over to the other side in peace while giving others the message of love and hope? How brave those people were.

My restless energy assisted me in making a difference in my environment, my living space, and allowed me to clear energy and bring a newness to my life and my surroundings. Showing our love and appreciation to life means taking care of the things that we've been blessed with, enjoying the ability to cook a meal, wash clothes with a machine, and to simply run a vacuum. So many of the things we take for grated each and everyday was a very conscious and intentional act for me today.

I wanted to give thanks for the lives that have passed on during the 9/11 by living. By giving thanks for the freedoms that we have here in America that we take for granted, and the blessing to be able to meditate and pray in my own home. It wasn't a time of regret for me, but rather of thanksgiving that these freedoms should be honored and appreciated each and everyday.

We are very blessed in life and showing appreciation for this life truly means living it.

I cleaned my home like I've never cleaned before, almost as if I was nesting. I moved furniture around which has not been moved in over 5 years and I washed everything with a fresh sense of new beginnings. Each day we are alive is a brand new day. Let's honor the lives of those that have passed on by living life fully. I think that's what they would want us to do, and it's what they would have "wanted" to do.

Live Life,

Love, Dr. Velvete
