"Understanding means being aware of this fact- not only being aware, but having a deep acceptance of the fact, because you cannot move away from fact. You can create a fiction....", Osho.
This can be the hardest lesson any of us could possible learn, learning to accept the facts. Of course when these facts hit us between the eyes we sometimes can feel sad, scared, anger or fearful. And of course these feelings are now letting us know we are resisting the facts. We might be aware of the fact that I'm alone but accepting being alone is totally different.
So when we feel frustrated, sad, or angry about a situation we know that we have just received facts that we don't like and then the resistance kicks in. We do all we can to make it not that way. We make crap up! Like, "I'm just like my dad", "They don't like me", or "I'm going to show them they are wrong about me". None of these things are based on facts but rather a deep inner part of you that doesn't want to accept the fact that you are the way you are because of you.
How do you know that what fact you are resisting isn't for the overall good for mankind? Just like being alone, maybe you are alone in order to be of service to man by being alone. Just you being alive is enough to know that you are of service, even if you never do another thing the rest of your born days. If you weren't of service you'd be out of service. Get it? Nothing more than the computer program that is no longer of any use to anyone and now it's put out of service. So if you are here accept the facts and quit trying to make crap up.
Understanding is having the ability to see the facts for what they are and then truly being able to accept these facts and utilize them to free yourself of judgment, envy, greed and/or fear. Just think about how much more easy life would be if you would stop fighting the facts and complete accept your lot in life.
An amazing thing happens when we do this, or I should say it has for me. When I quit fighting where I am in life and accepted it, then and only then does my life begin to open up and give me new and better opportunities. I feel there are many reasons for this, but the biggest one is acceptance for what is. How can we ever gain more in life when all we are wanting is to have more without accepting what is? This would be an example of taking more than our share.
There is a particular event happening in my life right now that I am being asked to accept. I see the fact that I am not suppose to be doing something and at first I kept thinking well maybe I'm suppose to be doing this so I'll do that instead, but that's still resisting my understanding. You see my fiction was to fill it with another similiar activity in order to fill a need. This need is always within us, but what is it? It will be different for everyone but for me to feel connected.
To feel connected! Can you believe that? How many of us have that need? But what are the facts? The fact that you are not connected doesn't mean that you are a bad person, doesn't mean that you are unworthy, and it doesn't mean that you are less than a person than another. It simple means that God wants you all to Himself right now. It's through the true connection with this Source that we learn how to connect with people with a deeper understanding and appreciation for who they are and their journey in life.
I mean come on if you are looking at the facts about a person and you are feeling you need to change them then you are not really in acceptance but fiction/denial. How can you ever understand the message they've come to bear if you don't like the fact that this person is the way s/he is for a reason. And really, is it ever about another person needing to change? Of course not! We have all learned that when we desire to change another it's because we don't like what they are exposing our own darkness within.
Understanding is accepting the facts! Accept them and then you will be given a clearer message in what to do with the facts.
Enjoy!
