At or Of

Why is it that a doctor is not titled "Doctor at Medicine", but rather "Doctor of Medicine"? And why is an attorney an "Attorney at Law" and not "Attorney of Law"? So I decided to look up "at" and "of".

"At" is used to indicate presence or occurrence and it's used as a function word to indicate the goal of an indicated or implied action.

"Of" is used to indicate a point of reckoning, origin, or derivation, and used as a function word to indicate the cause, motive, or reason.

Looking at Doctor of Medicine are we saying that the reason we have doctors is because of Medicine? Or are we saying that doctors cause us to have to take medicine? I think that has been the argument for many lately. However, if we stay true to what the origin of the physician is then we could conclude that it is the inner physician that brings us the most needed healing. It's hidden within us the true meaning of doctor of medicine.

Looking at Doctor of medicine we can look up to above this physical world and find a beautiful spiritual message. That said, we can turn it around and say, "healing of the physician." We are all doctors, we are all physicians of our own making, and we all have our own unique way of healing. Just because one person takes aspirin and receives relief doesn't mean another person will receive the same benefits. The same is true for any medicine spiritual or physical.

Let's look at Attorney at Law, we can see that it indicates a goal or action. When you look at this one might think isn't it the goal or action of the doctor to be at medicine, to have a goal or action? No, it is your goal, and it's your action when it comes to your health and well being. No one can make you well! Many believe that medicine makes them well, but it's only covering up the underlying cause. It is only through true healing that healing occurs.

But the Attorney at Law indicates a goal or action. This makes perfect sense when you think about it because our goal or action is to abide by the law. But what law? Of course we are given clues to this everyday. Simply put, that as long as we are not making the connection with Source we will be guided by our actions and goals of the subconscious mind. That's why it has to be an Attorney at Law and not "of" law. Once it becomes "of" law then it happens. There will be no need for attorney's, why? Because everyone will be at a point of reckoning.

We can't make people be smart, be kind, or be anything for that matter, so they play "at" it until they are "of" it. A Doctor of Medicine has to see each and everyday where the sick of mind, body and spirit are to bring it back into balance. An Attorney at Law has to witness each and everyday the separation of mind, body and spirit and try to protect balance.

Attorney's protect, physicians heal....each one of us are one or both of these entities at any given time. It is a struggle from within, of the laws that are in place, that brings balance to both. Once we are better attorney's in protecting the one greatest Law we have been given...Love, then we are able to be the physician and heal ourselves of the separation.

People, look around you! There are clues everywhere of imbalance either with health, or with the laws continually violated. It will be up to you to heal it or to punish it. Some see sickness as a form of punishment and then there are others that see punishment as a form of healing. Your choice!
