Why do you talk about God?

During a conversation with my daughter regarding her blog it occured to me that children are more observant than we give them credit to be. They aren't just playing in their own little world, but their minds are being molded by what they are experiencing.

My granddaughter asked my daughter why did she talk about God all the time. The reality of it is my daughter doesn't use the word God or talk about Him all the time. So when she inquired about this my GD said, "Well none of the others parents talk about God".

My granddaughter isn't saying that she's not "hearing" people talk about God, but rather that she's not hearing them talk about God with others, witnessing it. She continued to tell her mommy that she talks about God all the time in the house and that she talks to God all the time. Well even though this may be true it's silent, but what is the child witnessing that's making this real for her.

Here it is, she is able to feel Gods love, and she sees that her mommy is being an example of God's love each and everyday. My daughter and granddaughter talk each and everyday, this is talking to God. They hug, laugh, sing and play, this is talking to God.

Children know they are still one with God and when they have this connection with their parents they still feel connected to God. Not all parents have children just to now send to school and babysitters to raise, but take a real interest in their child/children and their well being.

We as parents are examples everyday of whether we speak to God or not in how we treat HIM. HIM being these children, our neighbors, our family, even our enemies. You see Children are pure at heart and know that all is of God's Love, which includes our planet and the tender animals of such.

So the next time you want to raise your hand to your child or say a cross word to your neighbor or of someone remember you are speaking to God.

Belief Statement: I remember each day that I see God through others and this makes me feel humbled. I might not like it always and down right want to run from it, but I gain confidence and strength while losing division.

Spirit statement: I know I see God in others and this is humbling because I stand face to face with confidence and strength in union.

Enjoy today and remember that God is all around you!

Love, Velvete
