Peace

Peace begins with each of us within our own hearts and minds. I wrote a piece earlier about how or why people are so mean. What are they here to teach us? What are they here to reflect? I mean someone has to do the duty, right?

It was only through an earlier discussion with a wonderful customer of ours that showed me that those types of people are in need of love and understanding the most. I thought about this for some time after this adorable man left my shop. Still trying to understand why so many people can be so hateful and hurtful.

Then, as if the Universe was listening in, I was given an opportunity to shed some light on this subject. A young lady, that we had denied shopping with us because of her attitude, showed up today. As she was here I thought about what I needed to say. As I began to speak you could visibly see she was upset about our decision, but she was still here. Why?

After speaking my mind to her and letting her know why we had decided she could not be here any longer she explained to me that communication is difficult for her because English is not her first language. When she spoke these words my heart began to melt. I thought about how many people can't hear the language of Spirit any more, or choose not to. I thought about how many people are so caught up in their own illusion that they really don't see who they are hurting and really don't see anyone there to hurt. All they see and hear is their own understanding, their own language and that's what I was doing with this young lady. I wasn't listening, I just kept talking. My guard was up for an unknown reason with this person. I took on defensive mode. So instead of being able to help this young lady, who was reaching out to us, we turned her away. I thank my Higher Self that she returned and had the courage to continue the lesson for me.

The next time you see someone being mean or hateful know that they are hurting the most. That a small part inside of you is still hurting. Set aside any decision you would make about this person and know that life is more than the fear, hate, or greed that you see. There is more to what we see with our eyes going on in this beautiful world for Spirit is all there is. It is only within our own minds that we refuse to see just how powerfully loving we truly are.
