"Tears of Joy"

Even though I woke in a great mood and everything flowed for me this morning I felt like I was struggling. I felt like I was being pushed instead of being allowed to enjoy a slower pace. As I got to my studio this morning the feeling intensified. It was as if life all around me was in a different time zone. So I decided to draw a card this morning.

Mem was the card I drew which is interesting with all the rain we've been getting. Of course Mem is the card of purification = 40. And it's also the 13th letter of the Hebrew Alphe Beit, which represents female power.

What I thought was really interesting is how this letter is requesting us to allow our tears to flow, to tap into our emotions. Mem is letting us know that through our emotions we are cleansing ourselves and renewing all at the same time. Mem reminds us that if we block these emotions that our heart turns to stone. Mem is asking us to look deeper, beyond the surface, to "restore life to the kingdom".

The shadow of Mem is when we use destructive and hurtful passion against ourselves and others. We literally are learning to swim among our emotions while learning not to drown. Destructive passion is a very dark and a scary shadow. It's that passion that never allows us that true relationship. It's that passion that keeps us held in an illusion that someone else is controlling us, but it really about us trying to control our own emotional flood gate.

Mem is asking us to look where we are seeing others controlling us and allowing ourselves the freedom and right to explore our own feelings of why are we controlling our own emotions. Is it because we will be viewed week, insecure, vulnerable or better yet a sissy? It is the female is allowed to cry, boys aren't suppose to. But it is that kind of thinking that is keeping us separated from a world of peace, joy and love. It is through our own washing of our tears that literally frees the heart.
