The one thing that can divide people....the government. It's one of the reasons I avoid discussing it with many people. First, if I feel the need to discuss it I need to be prepared to back it up what I'm seeing from within.
Of course we are not to go to sleep and just let the government take over, so what are we to do? First we need to start at the local levels. If you are a small fish in a big sea then you don't take on the whale, you take on something smaller or equal in size to you.
Corruption begins at the local levels and then works it way up, not the other way around. How do you think those guys got in there in the first place that are corrupt? They started at the local levels and got by with it, and put laws in place to protect them on a grander scale.
So if you are one of these people that haven't experienced "Higher Mind, Lower Mind", and don't understand the responsibility you hold, then quietly process your local government and get use to that first. If you try to take on the world when you are just one person with many ideas, those ideas will get lost. However, if you share those ideas on a local level, clean up the local level, and support at the local level then one day you will win that whale because now there is a whole bunch of you little fishes going after one great big fish.
Government is also learned within our homes. It is important to share with your children true democracy and not just authority. How many of us feel that children should be seen and not heard? Well this leads to adults unable to make decisions for themselves and just waiting for every one else to tell them what to do.
I raised my children to question everything, to investigate and to find their own answers. I knew that this would be what would help them in the long run to be active and creative adults and a world of possibilities because they became great problem solvers. Probably too much so at times because they really feel they can take on the world. That said, it's important to remember where that world is coming from.
So if you want to make a difference in our government start with how YOU treat people, how you inspire others, and how you are involved with your local government.
Tally-ho!!!
