Our Pot of Gold

This weekend a friend called and shared a story she was reading about a man going to Ireland and finding a leprechaun. Now of course we all know that leprechauns are suppose to help guide us to pots of gold that are mythically located at the end of rainbows. As she continued to read I could see the pages unfold in front of my eyes. I could see the story coming alive. I laughed and said, "Wow, there's a big process in all of that." We laughed and she said she couldn't wait.

But what about those of us that aren't reading the story, what deeper message is there to the stories we've heard about leprechauns? And listen to that word lepra-cons, does this mean they con people? Well of course they do because that's their job, to keep you away from the pot of gold. So first clue is whenever we are feeling someone is con-ing us or that someone is being a con then we know there is a pot of gold waiting for us if we are willing.

What about the rainbow? Gen 9:13, "I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth." I love it because all of my life I just thought this meant that God would never flood the earth again, but it's deeper than that. He is letting us know that there is a bond between him and earth. The rainbow is the bridge between heaven and earth. It is when we see this rainbow that we know that this bridge is made within us. Our connection is so strong that it becomes visible for the world, a few people or just ourselves. And we literally have to dive deep within the waters of our being to discover this connection.

In the story the leprechaun takes the man to the pot of gold, but now the man needs a shovel to dig it up. So he puts a red ribbon around the rock and tells the leprechaun not to take the red ribbon off. The man sets the leprechaun free and goes to retrieve his shovel. When the man comes back, he finds the place where his rock was. LOL....I know many of you are probably thinking right now why did this man trust the leprechaun. Hahaha, I think this says much about your own trust, power and worth but I think that is where your gold really lies, within you in what you assume of other people.

Anyway, the man is back at the rock, but now all the rocks in that area have red ribbons around them. LOL, you gotta laugh. The meaning in this is so rich that it hurts to think about it. Think about it for a moment that now each rock has a ribbon around it and this man will now have to dig up each and every rock before he finds his pot of gold. Isn't that what we are doing each and everyday in our lives in order to make this connection with God?

And it's really not that we have to make a connection with him, we have to discover how we've disconnected. He's always there, just like the gold under the rock, but we have buried it so deeply in this physical reality we have forgotten where we've placed it.

I love the leprechaun in this story because it really reminds me of the con artist that we truly are. Always manipulating, lying to ourselves about who we really are in order to discover the God within. The forces of good and evil are always within our own reach and choice of what end of the spectrum we wish to play. It's not until we are willing to dig up our own stones (stories) that we are able to find our gold.

Our stones/stories can be how we see others, the lies we tell ourselves and others, our disappointments in life, our fears, our angers, and more. Why am I not saying our love, and wins in life? Because those are rocks that you've already dug up and have gained awareness, alignment, willingness and release. It is here that you have found the rainbow and are now reconnected with your Divine Self. Those stones/stories no longer exist and you quickly discover they were never there to begin with.

So who, where or how are you going to find your pot of gold today? When we just take a moment and realize that God is love and all that there is is love then we can look deeply into the leprechauns in our lives and embrace the story. However, if we choose to see that anything can be other than God now we are allowing our leprechauns to con us into believing that our gold is hidden outside of us.

Enjoy your beautiful day and may you see your rainbow today.
