The cool crisp air fills my lungs as I water the vegetable garden. I can hear the birds singing and playing all around me, and the sun has come up and playing peek-a-boo behind a cloud bank. The cats have found a way to get into the garden and are now underfoot.
It's wonderful to be a part of life and enjoying the gentle breeze as my feet are touching the earth. It's so wonderful that after watering the garden I decided to have my breakfast on the deck. Breakfast consisting of a simple piece of cinnamon raisin homemade bread and hot tea, nothing eleborate, just simple and delicious.
As I sat on the deck I noticed birds coming up to the water fountain up front. It doesn't work any longer and I thought about how I could put food up top for them. So after eating my breakfast I decided to make my very own homemade bird food. Of course this consisted of fruits, nuts, cornmeal, peanut butter crackers, and flax. I grounded what needed to be grounded and then mixed it in a huge bowl.
I take my big bowl of mixture to give the birds a treat with great delight that they were getting something wholesome. It's to no surprise that the cats and dog wanted to follow my every step, but it didn't seem to bother the birds any. Taking my seat back on the deck I wait to see what will arrive, only to have them do fly overs as if were waiting for the commander of the group to say it was okay to partake of this delight. Of course I know it will take a while for them to trust it because they might be thinking that it's a trap so that my cats will have something cool to play with. I have no doubt that in a few days they will be feasting in this area regularly.
Many would say that I am blessed to be where I am in my life right now in order to connect with nature and myself on a much deeper level. I say that it is my honor to serve God in this way. You see, I've spent so much of my life running after God that I forgot just how easy He is to be reached, always there with me no matter where I go, where I run, hide, or try to rid myself of any illusional pain or discomfort.
I experienced the most profound peace I believe I have ever experienced this weekend when I felt completely happy for my life. All parts of it, not just the good times or the easy times. But even in this moment I am filled with so much happiness that I'm in awe of it all. Where does this come from? How can I be so happy? Why me?
These are from the smaller part of myself that wants to question the magnitude of our gifts, or our life, and our connection. Where does this come from? From within, the connection is stronger after each and every process. How can I be so happy? Why not? What does being unhappy bring to you other than more unhappiness? When we feed that energy it grows and expands on itself. If you are doing something that you don't like to do and it brings you unhappiness maybe, just maybe you aren't listening to the God within and feel that you should be doing something else but are afraid to take a leap of faith.
And why me? Why not me? And why not you? You see we are no different, God blesses us all equally. The only difference is in how we each align and become aware of this blessing or the blessings. So why not me is a good question to ask oneself because it helps you to realize your equality. It is through asking this question that you allow yourself to enjoy who you are and know that you are love, life, and light.
If you love what you are doing and it comes easy to you then enjoy that moment and stop struggling with it and trying to make it harder on yourself. If you know that you are in an environment that is unhealthy for you then do something about it. Life is short, we don't have to expose or be exposed to things that no longer serve us. Of course everything in life serves us, otherwise it wouldn't be here. But our job is to know how these things are serving us in order for us to grow and to connect.
I'm looking forward to taking my shower now and then giving myself to meditate on the deck while the wind is still blowing a cool breeze. After which I will allow myself to be divinely guided in what to do next.
Blessings to you all!
Love, Velvete
